This research report by Market Access Solutionz ltd details the observations from the review and stocktake of the resistance management strategies currently available on the New Zealand Plant Protection Society (NZPPS) website.
The report details the process and thinking behind the design of standardised resistance management templates for fungicides, insecticides, and herbicides focused on improving the readability of the strategies. The resulting templates represent a new way of presenting resistance management information with the focus being on the end-user; namely growers, crop advisors and agronomists.
This report also proposes an approach for how the resistance management strategies might be maintained, updated and new resistance management strategies created. Three key aspects have been identified – funding, organisation and reference group that, if implemented, will set in place a long-term structure for the maintenance and creation of resistance management strategies and provide a mechanism for the stewardship of resistance management in New Zealand.
