Extension Community of Practice

ALT together with extension experts Scarlatti facilitates a Community of Practice (CoP) focused on extension. The group meets every month, and is a way to learn more about practicing good extension, network with peers and keep updated on developments in this area. For more information on becoming part of the CoP, email:

What topics does the CoP cover?

The CoP is a professional development group and the intention is to support its members in further developing their skills in agricultural extension. Each meeting there is a focus on an aspect of extension and how it applies in real life examples and situations.

Sessions are delivered online and designed to be highly interactive, using small breakout groups to encourage active participation from all members.

Meetings are held the last Thursday of each month, for an hour in duration.

Attendees come from industry, science and government, and include those working in extension in horticulture, viticulture and arable as well as other areas of agriculture.

Community of Practice resources

A summary of discussion from each CoP meeting is shared with attendees only. Where appropriate, slides from topic discussions are linked on this page, and can be downloaded below. They are not intended as a stand alone resource, but give an indication of the topics under discussion by the group.
