The New Zealand Institute of Agricultural & Horticultural Science Inc (NZIAHS) has published Hot Topic #10 – Biopesticides- what are they, how do they work, and will they have a major role in New Zealand crop protection?

The report explains what biopesticides are, how they work, formulation and application, their benefits over synthetic pesticides along with challenges to adoption and uptake by growers.  The future potential and biopesticide sector growth is discussed as well as the New Zealand situation.

The paper was authored by Dame Alison Stewart, former chief executive of the Foundation for Arable Research (FAR).
