Milestone 11.1
Resistance risks reviewed and prioritised
Resistance risks will be reviewed and priorities for short-medium term development of resistance management strategies will be established.

March 31, 2021 - Workshops held with grower organisations, crop protection companies, the NZ Committee on Pesticide Resistance and researchers and resistance risks prioritised.
June 30, 2021 - International resistance risks monitored for the duration and fed into the prioritisation process.
June 30, 2021 - Progress with strategy development and priorities reviewed.
October 1, 2024 - The resistance management programme fully aligned with Theme 2 projects.

Progress
The review and update of resistance management strategies is being conducted in cooperation with the New Zealand Committee on Pesticide Resistance and AgCarm. All current resistance management strategies developed by the Committee have been reviewed and it was concluded that all need to be updated.
As a result A Lighter Touch has allocated additional funding to have all strategies updated by the end of 2023.

Resistance management strategies developed
Resistance risks to new-age agrichemicals managed by updating current resistance management strategies and developing new resistance management strategies where needed.

September 1, 2020 - Contracts let to research organisations to undertake the review and development of priority resistance management programmes.
September 30, 2020 - Annually - in subsequent years, contracts let for review and development of priority resistance management programmes.
June 30, 2021 - From Y2, priority resistance management strategies (Milestone 11.1) updated or developed and incorporated into the information portal and decision support tools (Project 9)
October 1, 2024 - The resistance management programme fully aligned with Theme 2 projects

Progress
The updating of insecticide strategies has been completed and awaiting peer review before uploading to the NZPPS website. Finding a contractor to update the fungicide resistance management strategies has been challenging, but it is anticipated that this work will still be completed by 31 March 2023.
