Zespri are hosting two field days sharing knowledge from the Zespri-ALT aligned project aiming to develop an integrated pest management programme for use against Passionvine hopper (PVH).
The field days will be of interest to anyone for whom sooty mold and PVH pressure is an issue. Plant and Food Research and project trialists will share their experience and latest research to help with effective management of PVH.
Discussion will include the the importance of border spraying and clearing, with examples shown of effective action, how the type of shelter present or absent can affect PVH spread, and what to do if PVH has infested an orchard block.
The field days are being held at an orchard in Paengaroa on December 12 and in Te Puna on December 13.
