A Lighter Touch, together with extension experts Scarlatti, is hosting two online workshops focused on adult learning and behavioural science for those working in extension.
Extension capability and capacity has been recognised as an essential ingredient in supporting growers transition from agrichemical reliance to more integrated, sustainable crop protection practices. ALT has supported sector extension capability development through training workshops and by facilitating a Community of Practice for those working in extension.
The topics and dates are:
- Adult learning and facilitation in extension: Thursday August 20, 12.30 – 4.00pm
- Introduction to behavioural science: Thursday September 10, 12.30 – 4.00pm
To secure your spot, in one or both of the workshops, please register online here.
Registration priority will be given to members of the ALT Community of Practice (CoP), but non-members are welcome to attend.
The CoP, a professional development group, meets on the last Thursday of each month to support members in further developing their skills in agricultural extension. The group has grown to almost 40 members since it began in February. Members are from industry, science and government, and include those working in extension in horticulture, viticulture and arable as well as other areas of agriculture.
New members are welcome, to join the CoP email news@a-lighter-touch.co.nz.
