The work of A Lighter Touch in supporting a grower shift from agrichemical reliance towards agroecological crop protection will be amongst the topics discussed at the inaugural New Zealand Biological Symposium in Tauranga next year.

Hosted by New Zealand agritech consultancy Wharf 42, the one day event on February 12, 2026 is designed to bring together growers, researchers, innovators, policymakers and agribusinesses to build a connected ag-biological community in New Zealand.

Along with ALT, other symposium presenters will include the Bioeconomy Science Institute (BSI), Zespri, Animal and Plant Health New Zealand (APHANZ), and Agritech NZ.

ALT programme director Livia Esterhazy (pictured above, centre) was part of a panel discussion at the Salinas Biological Summit in 2024,  the second annual summit hosted in June 2024 by hosted by Western Growers, one of the largest produce grower groups in the world, and Wharf 42.
